She rose from her couch in an olive green beanie, Mike Tyson crewneck and sweatpants as a clip from Nelly's "Hot In Here" played. But rather than proceed to Erica Banks’ viral song, Omar busted down into traditional prayer garments. 

In her nearly 500 comments on Twitter, folks were heavily amused by Omar's authentic angle and championed her embracing her Black Muslim identity.

All these mad people in the comments saying "our tax dollars going to this" like they dont lick the boots of people in $10,000 suits that are ruining the ecosystem for money. Stay mad, yall. Rock it out, Omar.

Omar was officially elected as the first Somali-American Congress member in the United States in 2018 and began serving in January 2019. She is also the first woman of color to ever represent Minnesota in Congress.
